Seaside Special for Travel Trade in Cleveleys.
Cleveleys in Lancashire – situated snugly on the famous Fylde Coast – was the seaside launch pad for the new Millstores. An ideal shopping stop for groups and coaches.
The latest gem in the growing retail portfolio of businessmen Simon Yates and Jonathan Addis, Millstores compliments their established Ena Mill in Greater Manchester and Courtyard in Tarleton offerings in the Northwest.
Formerly the site of a Wilko shop in Cleveleys, Millstores provides groups visiting or passing through the area a chance to pick up a bargain in a delightful setting. Coaches can park right outside the shop or can easily drop off or pick up passengers from the Nutter Road location. https://www.millstores.co.uk/
Coordinated by UK travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd, around 30 coach and tour operators and group travel organisers from around the country attended the event on the 26th January.
They were joined by Cleveleys Mayor, Councillor Steve Nicholls who officially unveiled Millstores from the cab of a local coach and tour company, Walton’s Coaches of Freckleton. Representatives of the Confederation of Passenger Transport – CPT - and Wyre District Council as well as Blackpool Transport were at the gathering.
A feature of the event was the contribution of the ‘Care for Cleveleys’ volunteers led by local champion Jane Littlewood. She gave the attendees a walking tour of the town as well as a friendly get-together where all things coaches and groups were discussed.
The perfect lunch stop was provided by the Coffee Bar in Cleveleys. A local speciality, corned beef hash, was the ideal fayre for a chilly winter’s day before their tour of the Fylde Coast with Walton’s Coaches. https://www.waltonscoaches.com/
The group were hosted by the Farington Lodge Hotel in Leyland by Classic Lodges Hotels’ Naomi Phillips. Accommodation and a delicious dinner were enjoyed there by the guests. https://www.classiclodges.co.uk/
The attendees, included Belle Vue Coaches of Stockport; Rural Concierge of Hereford; Ellen Smith Tours of Rochdale; China Europe Travel of London and Windmill Tours of Ipswich.
‘We were very pleased to welcome the coach industry to our latest retail outlet,’ says Jonathan Addis.
‘Millstores is going to be very popular for groups of all types and coaches will find it very handy for its parking and drop off facilities. The traders and volunteers of Cleveleys helped to make for a highly enjoyable occasion and we thank them greatly for their wholehearted participation.’
