Groups Sure to Blossom after Wisley Tourism Set Piece.

Group Buyer Forum South at Iconic Garden.
Group bookings are soon to be cultivated after a high quality tourism event at one of the country’s most iconic visitor attractions.
The Royal
Horticultural Society’s garden at Wisley in Surrey was the venue for the Group
Buyer Forum South event. An occasion for the travel trade to meet and discuss
bookings face to face.
Arranged by
Hampshire-based group travel specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd in conjunction
with Epsom Coaches, the Holiday Inn London Kingston-South, Historic Royal
Palaces and Group Leisure magazine, the event brought together some top
attractions, hotels, destinations and group venues.
Amongst the
many tourism businesses showcasing their wares were the National Memorial
Arboretum from Staffordshire; Daish’s Holidays from Bournemouth; Guildford
Tourism from Surrey; Ena Mill from Greater Manchester; Brooklands Motor Museum
from Weybridge; Northern France Tourism and Visit Dunkirk; the Switzerland
Travel Centre; French Brother’s River Cruises from Windsor; Warner Leisure
Hotels; The Bodleian Libraries from Oxford; Hidden Depths Canal Cruises from
London as well as Rural Concierge from Herefordshire – and that’s just a sample.
The purpose
of the event was to generate new and additional group bookings – coach parties.
Coach and tour operators as well as group travel organisers attended the event.
Steve
Reed is the MD of Steve Reed Tourism:
‘RHS Wisley
proved to be one of the very best venues we have ever used for our events. We
knew that it was popular with groups but, with the help of unseasonably hot and
sunny weather, it was simply first class!
‘The team at Wisley were so helpful and showed
how good they really are at handling groups of visitors. We were all made to
feel so welcome,’ says Steve.
Elwyn
Owen is the Visitor Services Manager at RHS Wisley Garden:
‘The Group
Buyer Form was a great opportunity for us to be able to showcase how good
Wisley is at handling and looking after groups. We really enjoyed showing the
coach and tour operators around and hope that they will choose to come back
with their groups to visit us.
The next Group Buyer Forum will be at
Samlesbury Hall near Preston in Lancashire on Monday 18th September
from 10.30 until 14.00. That event includes a special cruise with Wigan-based Kittywake Canal
Cruise and a trip to Ena Mill Retail. Hosted buyers will be based at the Last
Drop Village Hotel in Bolton.
