Oxford Businesses Get Together to Showcase Heritage Attractions.
7/18/2018
The superb Hawkwell House Hotel in Iffley Village near Oxford is to host some of the tour operators attending the much anticipated Oxford Group Showcase on Monday 12th November.
Another Chapter
Turned for Tourism Industry.
Coordinated by the Bodleian Libraries and arranged by Steve Reed Tourism Ltd, the tour operators will stay and have
dinner at the Hawkwell House on the Sunday night [11 November] after seeing
attractions in Oxford that afternoon. On Monday, they’ll join with day
delegates for an informative and highly enjoyable showcase.
The
event commences at 10.00 on Monday 12th November in the Old School
Quad
at the Bodleian Libraries where the guests will be introduced to the top
attractions in the city of Oxford.
City
Sightseeing Oxford will be providing transport for the group
including a tour of the Oxford sights.
All arranged with the aim of generating new group
bookings for the heritage attractions of Oxford, the tour buyers will commence
their day on the Monday with a tour of the Bodleian Libraries. This will include the famous Divinity School.
Before lunch in the Weston Library the VIPS will have a bird’s eye view of the famous
Oxford spires from the top of the adjacent Sheldonian
Theatre, next door to the Bodleian.
Next up will be a true hidden gem - The Museum
of the History of Science. Again, next
door to the Bodleian Libraries. The group of tour buyers will enjoy a tour of
this unique attraction. The
Museum of the History of Science houses an unrivalled collection of early
scientific instruments in the world’s oldest surviving purpose-built museum
building. The guests can discover objects associated with such diverse figures
as George III, Einstein, and Lawrence of Arabia
And providing the finale to a great visit to Oxford
will be the Oxford Castle and Prison.
There, the delegates can enjoy a 360 degree panorama of Oxford, descend into
the 900 year old crypt and can find out about the inmates of this well-known
city landmark and tourist attraction. They’ll also be asked for their verdict
on their showcase visit.
Kate del Nevo is the Venue Hire and
Marketing Manager for the Bodleian Libraries:

‘And thanks too to City Sightseeing Oxford for their
involvement and for being a wonderful promoter of tourism around Oxford.’
