22nd October 2018 the Date for Your Diary.
The National Memorial Arboretum [NMA] is to be the venue for the Group Buyer Forum-Central event 22nd October 2018.
Organised by UK travel trade specialists Steve Reed
Tourism Ltd of Hampshire, the Forum will be the latest in a new generation of
business-focused group bookings events.
Following on from recent successes in Samlesbury Hall
in Lancashire and RHS Wisley in Surrey, the Group Buyer Forum-Central puts
active tour planners together directly with hotels, attractions, destinations,
retail and group venues from all over the country.
Situated in Staffordshire on the edge of the National
Forest, the NMA is the UK’s first year-round centre of remembrance. Their
maturing woodland landscape is home to around 330 memorials. http://www.thenma.org.uk/
The
Forum commences at 10.30 on Monday 22nd October
and gives coach and tour operators and group travel organisers – the chance to
do real business and create bookings in a splendid and memorable attraction.
There will be around 50 UK attractions, destinations and hotels exhibiting at
the event – with tour buyers coming from all over Great Britain.
The event will also include tours of the NMA.
Since planting began in 1997, the National Memorial
Arboretum has been a special place honouring those who have served, and
continue to serve, our nation in many different ways. Their staff and
volunteers look forward to welcoming you.
It’s not a cemetery. It’s a place of life, represented by
the 30,000 trees planted here, where older and younger generations alike can
wander and wonder.
Covering 150 acres, the Arboretum has something for
everyone. For some it’s a wonderful place to stroll and enjoy the trees; for
others it's a peaceful and beautiful place to remember loved ones, particularly
those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The trees and the more than 300 dedicated memorials on
our site make the Arboretum a living tribute that will forever acknowledge the
personal sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and civil services of this
country.
Importantly, the focus isn’t totally military. There is a
large area devoted to police who have fallen while on duty, as well as other
areas devoted to the fire and rescue and ambulance services. National charities
representing those who have died in particular circumstances, including
children, are also to be found in the Arboretum grounds.
Sarah Oakden is the Head of Marketing at the National
Memorial Arboretum:
The NMA is now firmly established as a top visitor
attraction and is a perfect venue for the Group Buyer Forum event. We will make
sure that the tour planners visiting – as well as the tourist industry
exhibiting – will have an unforgettable experience.’ Says Sarah.
The event at the National Memorial Arboretum will follow
on from the Group Buyer Forum – South which takes place on Monday 30th
April at another iconic site. Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.
Steve Reed is the MD of Steve Reed Tourism Ltd:
‘We love to put sellers together with buyers and the
choice of venue for the Group Buyer Forum events is crucial. It has to be a
group-friendly attraction or destination and the NMA doesn’t come any
friendlier to groups of all types – it’s ideal for groups,’ says Steve.
‘The sheer scale of the site and its stunning landscape
compliment perfectly its state of the art visitor centre and exhibition. We
can’t wait!’
